Weather turned gray and rainy over the weekend; at least now it's cooled down some! I've got a couple important things to do/turn in this week but spent most of today catching up with family (my younger sister's home from college), sleeping, and listening to the "Dyatlov Pass" episodes of the Astonishing Legends podcast (still not done--despite the creepiness I almost always end up drifting off halfway through the episode and then having to rewind my way back).

Other stuff...happy (belated!) May the 4th! I've been reading my way through the 2018 [community profile] maythe4thbewithyou  archive since works were revealed and there are some seriously wonderful stories in there, so expect a rec post within the next couple of days. I've also been making (slow) progress through my TBR pile; I finished And The Trees Crept In on Friday, after giving up in the last three chapters or so and skipping to the end. It isn't a bad or badly written book, and the atmosphere it built up was genuinely creepy, but I couldn't for the life of me get invested in the characters, least of all when it came to the romance. Oh, well. It did leave me room to start Ahsoka, which I'm already enjoying much more.

It'll be nice to catch up with what you've been up to! :o)

I look forward to the rec post! :)

I keep seeing people mentioning Ahsoka in the context of liking it. Someday, I swear to god, I'll actually finish Clone Wars, and then watch Rebels, and then enjoy all the stuff you people keep having fun with :P

It does help, actually. And to be honest "use the wiki!" is what I do a lot of the time when I'm reading fanfiction, which this is not exactly but also not exactly not--it's certainly material that relies on understanding of a previously existing canon, in any case...

And of course "get intrigued by something that happens in the story, go back and read/watch everything leading up to it" is one of the main ways I actually get involved in fandoms. But I want to do one the right way round for a change, dammit :P And I'm sure I'll get a lot out of it, if I can just sit down and watch...

huh! That is pretty cool, and yeah, I know exactly the feel you mean. I do love coming across fic-flavoured original fiction--it's hardly the only kind of fiction I like but it's always, I don't know, kind of a treat to find out in the world :)

Ha! For me, honestly, it's usually something I hear from spoilers :P I've been meaning to watch a whole bunch of shows for ages now, though, it's getting silly. I still haven't made it to Daredevil Season 2. And what do I feel like watching rn? If anything, it's Nirvana in Fire... *shakes head at self*

maythe4th rec post \o/ I've been way slower than I'd like reading through the collection, and a bit sad I didn't finish all the treats I had hoped to get to.

Oh man, there's something really sad about a book with a title like And The Trees Crept In being disappointing. Though I just looked it up and now I kind of want to see for myself (I am shamelessly stealing my flist's reading lists, ngl).

Ahsoka is life (She says, having only met her in Rebels. One day, TCW, one day...)
